India International Skill Centers were set up through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and were implementing the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojona (PMKVY) and Pravasi Kaushal Vikas Yojona (PKVY) to youth seeking global mobility for jobs. IISC centers are equipped with lab infrastructure to provide international benchmark training and certificate programs.
IISCs shall look to develop placement linkages to international countries through direct tie ups with Employers or Recruitment Agents approved by the Ministry of External Affairs.
Empower has been allotted one center in Allahabad and it skill educated students from 19 December, 2016 to 28 February, 2018. Trainees were given skill education in different job roles namely F&B Service Steward, Domestic Worker, Room Attendant, Retail Sales Associate and Retail Trainee Associate. A total of 848 students have been trained at the center and 268 candidates have been placed so far. The project has been completed by Empower Pragati.
