Programme Objective:
Under the Skill India Mission, MSDE intended to establish visible and aspirational
training centres (i.e. PMKKs), therefore model training centres in every district of the
country were set up. The model training centres envisage to:
- Create benchmark institutions therefore demonstrate aspirational value for competency-based skill development training.
- Focus on elements of quality, sustainability and connect with stakeholders in skills delivery process.
- Transform from a mandate driven footloose model to a sustainable institutional model.
These centres are state of the art training centres, called Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra (PMKK). In other words, these centres will be exclusive, iconic and above all marketed as the best-in-class skill development centres.
PMKK will run industry-driven courses of high quality coupled with a focus on employability. NSDC is the implementation agency for the project.

PMKKs are being allotted to only those organizations which have the capability and track record to deliver high-quality vocational skill programs in line with youth aspirations and market demands. Empower Pragati has the necessary credentials already established which makes it one of the top skill training providers in India.

Empower Pragati has been selected to establish 28 PMKK spread across Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Nagaland.
Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, e-inaugurated 3 of our PMKKs during the official launch of this scheme in December 2016. In June 2017, Honorable President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee e-inaugurated 2 other centres in April 2017. Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Industries, Smt. Harsimrat Kaur Badal launched 4 centres in May 2018 and 1 centre in October 2018.
Empower Pragati aims to train and provide employment to over 30,000 youth per annum in these PMKKs. Our PMKKs are delivering training in job roles from sectors like Agriculture, Telecom, Apparel, Beauty & Wellness, Electronic & Hardware, Healthcare, Logistics, Retail, IT/ITeS etc.
Every one of our PMKKs has fully furnished classrooms with projectors, well equipped-training labs, library, counselling room, placement room and pantry. We adopt the best training practices to impart quality skill training to our students.
